By continuing to feed us the myth that the federal government can actually steer our multi-trillion dollar economy, or the spending and savings habits of 300 million people, our representatives only delay what desperately needs to be done: namely, the passage of unemployment insurance, providing enough money to provide alternative housing to those losing their homes, making sure that everyone has adequate access to healthcare, and that no one in this country goes hungry. The rest, unfortunately, is in the hands of the business community–which does not need tax cuts but rather a swift kick in the butt!

It is unfortunate but true, a system of limited government is confined to ameliorating the suffering of those hardest hit by the excesses of unbridled capitalism. This is what they should do rather than rewarding and propping up the same people who caused this mess in the first place.

“Billions for the average American and not one red cent for Wall Street or the banks!” should be our cry.
